Is your bathroom looking a little dull? If it is out of date, then you should consider adding these 3 simple accessories to make your bathroom look modern and chic.
A Framed Mirror
First, get rid of that old mirror in your bathroom that is unframed and that sits above your bathroom sinks. An unframed mirror does not make any statement, so you need something with a little more style.
To do this, look for mirrors that are framed and that have some visual interest. For example, you can get a wood framed mirror that has ornate ridges or that has some simple lines running all the way around.
If you are going for a more chic look, consider a mirror that has little jewels or mirrored jewels that line the border; this will really update the look of your bathroom. You can get a new mirror to fit in your bathroom for no more than a couple hundred dollars, so this is a great way to change your bathroom.
Second, look at the hardware in your bathroom, if there is any at all. The knobs and handles on your cabinets can really date your bathroom if they look like they came from the seventies or eighties.
If you have no hardware at all, adding some can reduce the wear on the cabinets and drawers, so it is definitely a good upgrade to add.
Consider some of the more modern styles that come in colors and styles such as brushed nickel, iron, rubbed bronze, and stainless steel. All of these metals are used in modern homes, but the trick is to make sure that the styles are also modern.
Lastly, another great way to update your bathroom in an affordable way is by adding cabinets right above your toilet or across from the toilet. This will allow you to store toilet paper, feminine products, air freshener, and other essentials in the cabinet so that they are accessible for you and your guests.
If you are really trying to save money, then consider adding pre-made cabinets from a store. If you get custom cabinets, you will pay much more since they have to be made to your specifications.
Just make sure that you place the cabinets high enough so that they do not hit you in the back of the head when you sit down to use the restroom.
By adding these 3 accessories, you can easily update and modernize your bathroom without spending thousands of dollars. If you really want to go all out, contact a company like Central Plumbing Specialties to help you upgrade fixtures like sinks or toilets.Share

Hi, I'm Carey Johnson. Mold can be more dangerous than you might realize. I learned that when my little girl started having asthma and allergy attacks inside the house. I couldn’t figure out what was causing it. We changed the filter in the air conditioner frequently, and we kept the house very clean. We couldn’t, however, figure out where the allergens were coming from. Finally, we discovered the mold that was growing on the floor of the attic – right above my daughter’s room! No wonder she was having breathing problems! Once we found it, we went right to work learning how to get rid of it for good. We ended up reconstructing the attic, and I learned that I enjoyed learning about construction.
